Reynolds ERA Trumpet For Sale in Merch

February 4, 2019

Folks, I am beginning the fund raising process for my first project for the VDPE Big Band. If you read the section on this group, you will see that I am totally self funded. I am a retired high school physics teacher, and while, due to the district I taught in, my pension is solid, I don't make nearly enough to totally spend out of pocket. I am definitely looking for sponsors and crowd funding support.

On doing this, however, I want to make sure that those who DO support, feel like they are getting something for the contribution. So, I have launched a Merch page. You can simply buy stuff and get a real item for your money. The PROFITS get totally plowed back into the VDPE projects. I TAKE NO PERSONAL INCOME FROM THIS! This is ALL about supporting the music and the musicians. I am asking fine, multi generational, professional musicians to back me up. I cannot and WILL not ask them to do this on spec or for free. They will be paid an appropriate fee for ALL of their work. This will get expensive, but I feel it is worth it in order to share the talents of these fine people with the world and the wonderful music they will be playing, featuring big band music that must be heard and must NOT be forgotten in this current climate of cultural crisis.

So I need your help. My first steps will be to liquidate part of my horn collection. The first horn on the sales block is a Reynolds ERA trumpet. This is a unique horn. Not a lot of them were made. ERA stands for Extended Range Altissimo. It was a horn that was designed to exaggerate the extreme upper register. The one I am selling is a Reynolds Professional ERA, a fixed bell model. The SN on this horn is 273759. It is in EXCELLENT shape - no dents or bang ups of any kind. I have 16 pics of the horn just below. The interior of the case is in fine shape. The exterior shows a little bit of wear ( hope that is clear in the pics), but it is as solid as it was when it was new - no rattle or worn out hinges, etc.

The idea behind having one of these horns professionally was for lead players to have this horn on the stand and grab it when they were about to launch into a sortie of high note playing. Now, it is a must have for any collector who wants to have some interesting exotic horns on their show room shelves.

I am pricing this horn at $850, including shipping. If you buy this, here is what you get:

A.) A really cool horn.

B.) A one year listing on my sponsors page ( you can be listed by your name or your business or both).

C.) A shout out as a sponsors on one episode of my new podcast, "Duets From The Trenches: Musicians You Should Know."

To be honest, I would feel more comfortable selling to someone who can come by and pick the horn up in person, mainly because I want them to see the quality of this horn up close and personal.

I prefer all payments to be via Paypal for the protection of all involved.

Check out the pics below.

Thank you for your support.

Respectfully submitted...
